Eyes Open

today has been the most amazing day. i can't really even explain why. i decided to stay home from church this morning and just spend time with Jesus. and that was really good because there was no time limit on it. it seems that whenever i sit down to pray or read my bible or talk to God, i have some kind of time constraint and my mind is always thinking in the background "when do i have to leave?" today i didn't have that. and it was really nice.

then, this afternoon, i decided to go to the park because it looked like it was going to rain and i really wanted to play outside in the rain. i went to percy warner and just sat on the stone steps and wrote in my journal and appreciated nature and God and creation. and the quietness. and then i drove back home via the scenic route through the hills, while listening to the snow patrol album that jessie was kind enough to leave in my car (thanks jessie). the song "open your eyes" went really nicely with the windows down and the trees and the rain that eventually started to pour. God is just too amazing and I love it when He slows us down enough to get lost in the woods...

"This place where you are right now...God circled on a map for you.Wherever  your eyes and arms and heart can move against the earth and sky, the Beloved has bowed there--our Beloved has bowed there knowing you were coming"

I don't know who wrote this, but its good to know that God has our moments circled and planned out somewhere.

Sound of Melodies

well friends...it has been quite a week.

i am living in a war zone. our new house is being semi-remoded, which means that i can't move into my room until thursday. but it started as monday and then today and then it was supposed to be tomorrow and now its thursday. so at this rate, i guess i will be in sometime next week? other than that, jessie and i had some fun times with the water pipe bursting and a the resulting lack of cold water. and then there has been some fun times with comcast...fyi, comcast has no idea what they're doing. ah, the joys of moving into a house. hello real life.

and i am training to be a TT leader, which had been interesting. it will be fun when the "new students" (not kids), get here. tomorrow we have to do a ropes course. pray i don't die.

despite all the craziness, it is good to be back in the ville. i forgot how much i missed the people here.

go buy leeland's new album. it came out today.
